Lee Lucas If your into Prog music like myself then this album I can assure will be right up your street. Rowan as a really unique style and is one very fine talented musician. This début album of his contains very well structured haunting music along its path, and is a very solid album and fine body of work with all the 11 tracks here. This is acoustic prog folk bliss and as everything the 70's said to me, and still does, about Prog music. Utter class and I highly recommend it. Favorite track: Hold On.

1.
There’s a man who’s crawling though my skin Like a virus with a violin Nowhere to go but into the open arms Of any vice that will let me in Just one more pill to help me sleep But I know what you sow is what you reap I have numbed so many parts of my mind But the pain is never that hard to find
2.
Karma 03:06
You tried to take away something you don’t have a right to take You’re playing games in places built on lies And blood already spilt I know you cried out for someone to use You better hope there’s no karma too You like to play your cards It’s what’s gotten you this far You don’t think anyone’s noticed that you’re loading the deck But they know who you are
3.
Pyromaniac 03:27
You don’t know me You don’t see me here You don’t know me You don’t see me here It’s not that I’m wearing camouflage I’m avoiding you but staying clear Now you’re setting fires to appease Your destructive personality But there’s not much left to burn You might have to let it grow and then take your turn You’re like a chance to imbibe A dose of cyanide You’re breaking bottles on the wall Just to see them fall I might just be one of the shards Broken but still clear
4.
Flying Kites 04:40
You don’t cry You don’t even blink an eye It’s all over this time You don’t even know why There’s something Somewhere nearby It’s pulling strings and flying kites Casting shadows onto endless night And I laugh at those things they say It’s all over anyway And I know I’ve made it too far Not to seize the day But I know I know what I saw You’re kicking heads through glass doors Maybe you should seek help some more There’s something Somewhere nearby It’s pulling strings and flying kites Casting shadows onto endless night And I laugh at those things they say It’s all over anyway And I know I’ve made it too far Not to seize the day
5.
Seraphim 05:04
There’s a house, slowly we meander by But nothing can prepare us for this cold dark night So we went in, invited by hosts bearing anything But nothing that lasts because it’s like a piece of string But then it tears you away from the cold And into a world guilded within Where the grass is always greener And where people glow like Seraphim
6.
See this line Cross in time Tomorrow you could be someone you can’t even define You’ve got a hole in your heart You’ve got a thorn in your side With the rest you try to make Jekyll from Hyde Cause you’re a smooth talker But you can’t take the blood from the water You’re armed to the teeth But it just makes you that much shorter
7.
Hold On 05:30
Over the people, over the bloody throne Through the fields and out by the road There are so many people here Some missing faces and some missing ears Hold on, hold on I don’t know what to do or think But you stop swimming and you start to sink And it numbs the pain you feel In these wounds you think never heal Over the feeble, those from hunted homes And they’re seamless right down to the toe And there’s so many of us here Some missing faces and some missing ears Hold on, hold on
8.
Led By Liars 04:21
Led by liars It’s not that hard to see It’s not rocket science The first clue is all of the poverty It’s not going very well If you can’t tell it’s not made of peaches Holding a wild card As if you have found a messiah But it’s a façade Like a fake amidst the art It’s about time You yearned to be free It’s not a crime Unless you give in to their misery If you think that it’s fine then the problem’s that you’ve stopped thinking Hoping for an easy way out of this place But you can’t see the door You’re blind as that’s their cause And their left alone to make more wars
9.
Fixing You 03:40
I don’t care about fixing you It’s not something you can sign on to do Cause you make the ground a merry-go-round I’d prefer to go somewhere new There’s holes in your masquerade And in the world you’re chasing But the person you are is the choices you’ve made And you’re trying to escape it Underground there’s a sound like people moving around And you walk right through that door It’s like I’ve never seen you before
10.
Julie #2 05:03
I can’t seem to stop thinking of how I’m missing you It’s pointless and painful but I can’t stop missing you There’s so many mirages that I’ll have to see through There’s so many miles to go but I’d walk it to see you Heaven comes and it’s divine, but leaves me pained by the passing time I spend waiting for you just hoping that you’ll find One reason to come back so I can see you face I could be happy again if I could feel your embrace
11.
Leave him alone He could be going somewhere nice As long as you don’t block the road he is taking To Shangri-La or just somewhere less like Gomorrah But I’m waiting to know what the fights about Fight you will Nothing I do seems to pull you through your psychosis My own private pillar of salt in you Help me clear the way back into the past There’s nothing else when the winners come last But I’m looking for a place between the fake and the outcast But I’m waiting to see what the fights about Nothing I do seems to pull you through your psychosis My own private pillar of salt in you

about

The Mad Pride Wollongong, Australia

Combining 60s psychedelia, folk noir, art rock, gothic post-punk and baroque pop, The Mad Pride has been described as haunting and ominous like Syd Barrett and David Bowie collaborating on a Tim Burton film soundtrack. Comparisons are often made to Radiohead, Grizzly Bear, Frank Zappa, Opeth, Nick Cave, Erik Satie and Leonard Cohen. It is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Rowan Galagher. ... more
